i am soooo behind on this blog! yikes! it's been a busy few months and blogging has been put on the back burner... however, if i hadn't been so busy here's what i would have blogged about...

i would have told you all about how ty is growing up way too fast. how he finds crawling much easier and faster then walking, so thats what he does. he crawls like a mad man everywhere. i would have told you that i fall more in love with his laugh everyday and i can't help but smile every time he gets laughing.

he already knows what touchdown means and cant wait for football season... but while we are waiting for football... we watch some baseball.

Ty also had his first trip to the beach over memorial day weekend!

and while we weren't at the beach playing, we were at the park swinging and listening to the wednesday night summer concerts. two of tyler's favorite things.

i hope he never loses that smile, cause im kinda in love with it. he has 6 big, sharp teeth which he loves to grind. a nasty habit he picked up from his mom. ty has also discovered his lower lip and tries to use it to get what he wants whenever possible. luckily, this is also a habit his picked up from his mom and i am sooo tuned in to what he is trying to do. it's pretty damn cute though! of course i never have a camera around when he does it. mmm fail.

if i hadn't been so busy i would have also told you that i had back surgery in june and ty and i spent 3 weeks at my parents house. ty was able to spend lots of time with his grandparents and aunt and uncle. ty reminded his grandmother that she loves being a grandmother and not a mother to a baby. she and my dad were my arms for me since i wasn't (and still am not) allowed to lift more then 5 pounds which means he slept in their room.

despite how huge he is for his age, he is becoming quite the picky eater. he loves fruit, everything else is debatable. sometimes he likes eggs and the next day he hates them. one day he likes broccoli and the next day they get thrown in my face. ohhhh fun!

these of course are all things i would have blogged about if i hadn't been so busy! phew! can't believe my little man will be 1 year old soon!

ty finds great joy in the following things:
*ignoring all toys approved by his mom and dad and crawling to the nearest electrical outlet and playing with the cord that is currently plugged into it
*crawling
*swinging in the baby swing at the park
*being gently tossed in the air
*being held upside down
*feeding himself real people food and not that baby junk ive been feeding him the last 9 months
*laughing to excess
*sleeping with his snuggie wrapped in his hands
*sleeping all night (win)
*all things music
*cuddling with mom or dad at bedtime and rocking
*the bath
*throwing toys on the floor and watching mom and dad pick them up. over and over and over again.
*putting anything and everything in his mouth, especially paper.
*smiling
*grinding his teeth. (fail)
*late afternoon rides in the stroller
*playing with his friends at daycare
*life

the last bunch of months ty has grown in so many ways. at his 9 month check up he was 22 pounds and 28 inches. it's so nice to finally get outside and play. he has 4 teeth that have come in and 2 more that have broken and are on their way.

i cant wait to dig in the dirt and play at the park this summer.

I told you he loves to laugh....

8 months

Wow! I guess I have a lot of catching up to do here. My computer is still on the fritz. I fight with iPhoto almost daily but I do have some photos and hopefully video for you to enjoy.

Ty is 8 1/2 months old today! He is growing so much everyday. He still the same happy smiley boy. He has now learned how to wave and finds great joy in waving to any and everything he can. Last weekend we took a bus home from my parents house and he was waving to the cars out the window on the interstate. He goes for his 9 month check up at the end of the month and I am very curious to find out how much he weighs. He is currently in 12 month clothes for the most part. Depending on the brand he can still squeeze into 9 month but all his PJs are 18 months!

Knock on wood, he is sleeping pretty well!! He is a very routine boy, which I like! Like clockwork, he is hungry for dinner at 6:30 and ready for bed by 7:30. Which means that our "late night" activities are pretty much non existent! Last night we put him in his bed at 7:23 and by 7:30 he was sound asleep. He usually wakes up somewhere around 3:30-4 for a bottle and then goes back to sleep until I have to wake up him to go to daycare. We've tried keeping him up a little later and he want no part in that!

A few weeks ago my daycare provider was sick with the 24 hour flu so I had an unexpected day to spend home with Ty! We had a blast...

He is a HUGE talker. I really wonder what he is saying sometimes...he doesn't stop. I wonder where he gets that from!?:-) He has been saying "Da-Da" for a while now, but in the last few weeks has started with "Ma-Ma". He makes all kinds of noises and blows raspberries. His laugh is so much fun. Ruddley plays a game with him that gets him going every time! I'm hoping the video will post on here.

Opening Day 2011!

My big boy on the bus to Blue Hill!
Ty also loooooves his book "Baby Faces". It's 5 pages long and has 1 word on each page...and we read it over and over and over!! Good times I tell ya!

boy meets dog

ahhh gagagaga

for the first 5 1/2 months of ty's life i feel like all he did was eat, sleep and lay propped up in the boppy. i can't believe how much he has grown in the last month. even in the last 2 weeks he has gone from kind of being able to sit up to sitting up on his own, reaching for toys and entertaining himself. he notices when he drops one of his toys and reaches over to try and get it. he has found his voice and spent a good half hour sitting on the floor of his room tonight yelling something like "ahhhh gagagaga eeeeeeeeeee gaaaa gagagaaaa". im pretty sure he said "i really love my mommy". when he wakes up in the morning he talks and talks and talks to himself in his crib and ruddley and i love listening to it through the baby monitor. he certainly is his mothers son:-) he loves when ruddley reads him stories at night. he laughs and laughs and tries to eat the books:-)
bedtime stories with daddy

we took him to his first maine red claws basketball game a few weeks ago. he LOVED the game. we had a hard time getting a good picture of him 'cause he didnt want to look away from the action.

ruddley and ty at the red claws

ty still doesn't want to look at the camera!

i know pregnancy did not agree with me, but i am sooo in love with him. i cant wait to pick him up from daycare everyday and bring him home to play. hes starting to get to the age where we can play together and have fun. last night ruddley and i started planning our baseball raod trip for this summer....we can't wait to bring him with us to the different baseball parks. ahhhh the fun is just beginning!!

trying to eat the plastic rings. mmmm

how can you not love this kid!?

We have a tank...and two front teeth!

First-- I want to congratulate my big brother Josh and his beautiful Jamie on their new addition! Baby Cohen was born on January 28, 2011. Welcome to the world little dude.
Cohen L. Beatty
Ok so I know I said I would post some pictures before this post buuuuut I still have not gotten my computer back up and running yet. I do have a few photos from the iphone though. January has been super crazy.  I have been helping my mom to direct the Gilbert and Sullivan show this winter and so weekends have been busy with rehearsals, sets, lights, costumes and fun! We just closed our winter run of the show and I'm finally coming out from under the chaos that was my life for the month. Hopefully I'll get things up and running soon. In the meantime Ty has been busy growing.

In the span of one week, Ty cut his two front teeth, grew some hair (to most people he still looks bald, but to us he's got a full head of hair!), rolled over--once, sits up...occasionally falls over, and is eating us out of house and home. Phew..he's a busy boy.

I took him to rehearsals with me so Ruddley had the weekends free to finish up working on our house. Ty was a champ! He loved listening to the music, in fact I have realized that I can only take him to operas, ballets, or symphonies where the music doesn't stop. He would spend the entire day with me at rehearsal and smiled his way through it. I have decided he is not very good birth control for people who lead busy lives and wonder if they can bring their child along with them. I bought a cheap little front pack thing at Wal-Mart and it seemed to do the trick. I strapped him in and he was able to watch everyone while I  did my assistant director thing (which basically consisted of my mom telling me to do something and I went and did it).

Loving the front pack
Just chilling, listening to the singers

I took him for his 6 month check up last week and here are his stats
Weight: 19.14lbs
Height: 27in
Head: Umm...I forgot:-)

We are raising a tank! We figured out he is eating almost 30 oz of formula a day plus 3 bowls of cereal and assorted veggies and fruits. He's very interested in everything that he can't have..must be my child!:-) Just this week he has started to be able to walk forwards in his walker...before he was zooming around the house backwards, running into things and knocking them over. He now notices when he drops something on the floor and tries to reach down to pick it up.

Now that spring is on it's way, Ty will be viewing the world from his jogging stroller as I begin to train for the Pineland 25K in May and the MDI Marathon in October.

happy dude

Hello! It's me again with an update on little Ty. We had a fantastic holiday and once I get my computer back, I'll have lots of pictures for you. Sadly, it's visiting the computer doctor to get all the data that was wiped clean off my computer, back.

Ty is STILL a happy baby. We are so fortunate and blessed to have such a fun loving baby. We started him on food a few months ago and so far we haven't found a food that he doesn't like. Cereal- check. Peas, green beans, carrots, applesauce, pears...check, check check. He doesn't care if they are all mixed together or seperate, if they are heated or cold. It shouldn't come as a surprise that he is busting out of some of his 6 month clothes at 5 months old. Lately he has been super interested in what Ruddley and I are eating. He stares at it like its a big bowl of peanut butter m&ms:-)

I'm also pretty sure hes going to pop a tooth pretty soon. He can't get enough of his fist and fingers. He also chomps on the nipple on the bottle, tries to eat my hair and sucks on Ruddley's shoulder.

The other thing he loves is his jumper. He spends hours in it at a time and laughs up a storm when he is jumping. Ruddley and I have been doing an exercise DVD at night and he gets a big kick out of watching us do cardio circuts and mountain climbers.

Ty talks up a storm, my mom says he takes after me:-) We love listening to him babble. Since he was born Ruddley has been trying to teach him to say "Dada". The other day Ruddley says to me, "I should really start trying to get him to say "Mama". It was nice to hear him say that and I thought he was recognzing how hard I work and wanted Ty to say Mama. I asked Ruddley why he thought that, to which he replied "So in the middle of the night he can ask for Mama and not Dada". Sweet moment, ruined!

We have his 6 month check up at the end on January, I'll be interested in seeing what his stats are. Hopefully before then I'll have pictures from the last month.
