ahhh gagagaga
for the first 5 1/2 months of ty's life i feel like all he did was eat, sleep and lay propped up in the boppy. i can't believe how much he has grown in the last month. even in the last 2 weeks he has gone from kind of being able to sit up to sitting up on his own, reaching for toys and entertaining himself. he notices when he drops one of his toys and reaches over to try and get it. he has found his voice and spent a good half hour sitting on the floor of his room tonight yelling something like "ahhhh gagagaga eeeeeeeeeee gaaaa gagagaaaa". im pretty sure he said "i really love my mommy". when he wakes up in the morning he talks and talks and talks to himself in his crib and ruddley and i love listening to it through the baby monitor. he certainly is his mothers son:-) he loves when ruddley reads him stories at night. he laughs and laughs and tries to eat the books:-)
we took him to his first maine red claws basketball game a few weeks ago. he LOVED the game. we had a hard time getting a good picture of him 'cause he didnt want to look away from the action.

We have a tank...and two front teeth!
First-- I want to congratulate my big brother Josh and his beautiful Jamie on their new addition! Baby Cohen was born on January 28, 2011. Welcome to the world little dude.
Ok so I know I said I would post some pictures before this post buuuuut I still have not gotten my computer back up and running yet. I do have a few photos from the iphone though. January has been super crazy. I have been helping my mom to direct the Gilbert and Sullivan show this winter and so weekends have been busy with rehearsals, sets, lights, costumes and fun! We just closed our winter run of the show and I'm finally coming out from under the chaos that was my life for the month. Hopefully I'll get things up and running soon. In the meantime Ty has been busy growing.
In the span of one week, Ty cut his two front teeth, grew some hair (to most people he still looks bald, but to us he's got a full head of hair!), rolled over--once, sits up...occasionally falls over, and is eating us out of house and home. Phew..he's a busy boy.
I took him to rehearsals with me so Ruddley had the weekends free to finish up working on our house. Ty was a champ! He loved listening to the music, in fact I have realized that I can only take him to operas, ballets, or symphonies where the music doesn't stop. He would spend the entire day with me at rehearsal and smiled his way through it. I have decided he is not very good birth control for people who lead busy lives and wonder if they can bring their child along with them. I bought a cheap little front pack thing at Wal-Mart and it seemed to do the trick. I strapped him in and he was able to watch everyone while I did my assistant director thing (which basically consisted of my mom telling me to do something and I went and did it).
I took him for his 6 month check up last week and here are his stats
Weight: 19.14lbs
Height: 27in
Head: Umm...I forgot:-)
We are raising a tank! We figured out he is eating almost 30 oz of formula a day plus 3 bowls of cereal and assorted veggies and fruits. He's very interested in everything that he can't have..must be my child!:-) Just this week he has started to be able to walk forwards in his walker...before he was zooming around the house backwards, running into things and knocking them over. He now notices when he drops something on the floor and tries to reach down to pick it up.
Now that spring is on it's way, Ty will be viewing the world from his jogging stroller as I begin to train for the Pineland 25K in May and the MDI Marathon in October.
